INTERCLUB RIVALRIES

The club plays an interclub trophy each year:

 

The Cutlass Challenge is an annual match vs the Fremantle Pirates and is held at the neutral venue of the Rockingham Golf Club

​

56 players in total, 28 from each club.

It is a 2-ball Ambrose event based on a Stableford format .

Each pair have their combined handicaps added and divided by 2 to determine their pair's handicap for their match. 

​

There are cash prizes galore with the best 3 pairs from each club plus 12 novelties.

​

The day is off 2-tees and the players are given lunch after the game

​

Currently the score stands as follows:

Western Pirates 5 - Fremantle Pirates 6

​

The most recent match was held at the Rockingham GC on Sunday the 26th November 2023

​

The Fremantle Pirates won the day with scores of  6 - 2 with 6 matches drawn.

​

The top 3 pairs for the Western Pirates were:

Russell Saunders and Ross Harding - 54pts

Perry Vitale and Paul Montie - 53pts

Derroll Harrison and Shane Melrose - 51pts
